Michael calls himself a "Weird, Wicked, Funny, Accurate Astrologer" and has written the monthly astrology column for Vanity Fair for 25 years and also writes for several other publications, including the German, Japanese and Korean versions of Vogue Magazine and the Huffington Post.

In addition to lectures, workshops, and seminars internationally, Lutin is the author of four musical plays and numerous books, including Saturn Signs : A New Astrological Approach to Turning Your Fears and Anxieties into Success, Made in Heaven: The Astrology of Why the People You're Attracted to Eventually Drive You Crazy and What You Can Do About It, Childhood Rising and SunShines: The Astrology of Being Happy.

Michael is the Past President, Certified Member and current International Liaison of the National Council for Geocosmic Research. He is also a member of the San Diego Astrology Society, ISAR and AFAN. In addition to all this, he maintains a consulting practice and travels frequently.
